Our Story
Café Marguerite is a woman-owned small business in the heart of the northeast Arts District of Minneapolis. Founded in 2023, our mission is to nourish through food, art and aesthetic experience.
Known for its warm atmosphere, freshly baked croissants from Vikings and Goddesses and La Boulangerie Marguerite; locally roasted coffee from Dogwood; and commitment to community, Café Marguerite is more than a café—it’s a canvas for connection.
As a former arts educator, proprietor Melissa Borgmann is at home in the arts scene and takes great pride in the collaborative relationships that anchor the cafe and help forge connections.
Collaborative Partners Include: Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Rho Epsilon Chapter; Read with Me Minnesota; Poet-In-Residence: Sara Dovre Wudali; Artist-in-Residence, C. Fausto Cabrera; Paint-and-Sip Art Teacher, Cynthia Berger; Yalla Sis! Exposed Brick Theatre; and others!

With fresh and delicious food at our center, our catering menu is crafted with the same care we serve in the café every day. Nourishment thoughtfully prepared, and perfect for gatherings of all sizes.
Inspired by the charm of Parisian cafés, Café Marguerite blends classic European flavors with the creative spirit of our neighborhood. Whether you’re stopping in for a perfectly pulled espresso or a buttery croissant, whether you’re settling into a quiet corner with a book, our space is designed to spark community and creativity
We’re proud to be part of the vibrant fabric of the Northeast Arts District — a place where culture and community come together every day.
